Anyone done a photo shoot with the 40D tethered to a laptop? I have my first indoor shoot this weekend and I've read Scott Kelby's Digital Photography Book and he recommends shooting tethered whenever possible. I have Photoshop CS3 so I know it's capable of doing so. I am wondering if the 40D supports it and if so, what kind of cable is needed. Anyone have any insight they could share?
Thanks in advance for the help!

Everything you need came in the box when you bought it new, including instructions, cord, software...Pull out the box and have a look inside.

Thanks...I threw the box in the closet after pulling out the camera and software and haven't looked at it since. I'll do that tonight. Thanks again!

Last night I got the tethering thing working with my 40D. My laptop had Windows Vista so it required an update to teh EOS Utility but once I did that it worked like charm. Thanks guys!

You may want to get a longer USB cable so you can move farther away from your laptop. I'm not sure what the max length is for the camera, I know there is one, but my 10' cable works fine.

I have a 25' usb cable, works fine. Its a not a cheapy though, not sure if that makes a difference int he longer run, it wouldn't in the short run.

I think the official max length is 5 meters. I have used up to a 5 meter extension and the supplied cable with a 5D. I think I might get a 3 meter extension just to be safe.

You're 100% right, I pulled out the box and it say 5 meters on it, so I'm at 16 feet away, no idea why I always thought it was 25 feet, most of it coiled up on the floor anyway.
