Found this guy on my wall. It's body is about 1-2mm long. Taken with a Raynox DCR-250 add on lens on the end of a Canon 55-250mm, which seems like a pretty cheap way of getting in so close!

Wow, that Raynox seems like a cool deal. Like 50$ USA. And looks like the universal fitting will allow it on pretty much any lens huh?
I may have to look into that! Thanks for the post and info. Nice shot. And I think that is what they call a Harvestman. I've never seen one live.

Nice catch...#1 for me :).

DCR250 is great. It'll fit 52 to 67mm threads. When used with Tamron SP90, it will get you 1.7:1. There are others as well such as MSN202 and CM3500 (3 glasses).

I'd definitely recommend one if you want to do macro but can't buy a specialist lens, for such a cheap bit of glass they don't seem to detract at all from the quality of the lens they're mounted on. The mount goes up to 67mm, you'll probably want a lens with a narrower diameter and a fairly long focal length otherwise you get vignetting or full on tunnel vision from the edges being blocked.

You're right, I was thinking it was a long-legged cellar spider (which we call a daddy long legs here) but it looks more like a harvestman with its fused body.
