Has anyone noticed using Photoshop elements 6 camera RAW 4.2. Purple Dots In the dark Area of the Image? Im not talking like Noise Dots or anything like that. It actually looks like i Took out a spray paint tool and spray painted Purple Dots. If i increase anything do with light or highlights it tends to go away, but if i increase blacks, or Decrease brightness the image becomes 100% useless.
Id love to post an example but well shooting RAW - Jpegs, the Jpegs have none of this. Plus it only happens well using this program. It doesn't happen well Viewing in Irfan view, or Picasa.
The dots don't cover the image, just the extreme Dark spots.
i would think it was my screen acting up, but since it only happens using PS and nowhere i ruled it out.
Oh and once i click "open image" and it opens IN PS editor, the go away.
here's a Exif from one image.

The file size is to large to upload threw Hotmail and yahoo. man its been awhile since i used that AOL account. You should be getting it from "Pyro3344@aol.com"
And the dots, at least from me are in the curb, bottom left of the image.
Ok so its to big for AOL as well darnit.
Edit - tried again, it may show up as spam or junk mail though, i used an Internet based transfer site.
Thanks for the help, sorry for the trouble.

You can do a screen capture and post what you are seeing on here. Use you "Prt Scn" button and then use the "new image from clipboard". Then save for web and post here.

Check in the top area of the RAW browser, do you have a checkbox in Preview / Highlights / Shadows?

I know if I have Highlights and Shadows selected, the highlights flash red when overexposed and shadows appear as pink for underexposure.

Thank you all Soooo much. Kinda feel dumb now, ive been using this program for some time, but never clicked on those buttons.

I shoot a lot at high ISO and in very low light, so I didn't realize what they were until recently when I was shooting in good light and only had a couple (was shooting ISO 50 at the time).

Glad your question has been answered!
