Hi,
I am new to digital photography, infact photography. I have been using point & shoot camera untill recently, but now using a canon G3 to get a feel of manual controls.
These are my first shots from G3 where I have tried to use P, Av, Tv & Manual modes playing with ISO, shutter speed, WB & Photo effect settings.
Can you comment on my pics & give me give me suggestions to improve ?
Thanks a lot in advance.

There are a lot of photos there to comment on. How about just posting a couple of your favourites and see what happens?

Raj,
Welcome to the forum. I second Damian, select a few photos and post again. I'll be more effective. The G3 is a nice camera, it's able to produce very good images.

Some great shots - it appears that you have a great eye for composition. I especially like the B&W - do you shoot these with the B&W setting in the camera or convert later with software?

Damien & Juliano, I get your point. I will post a select few soon.
Geeeyejo, Thanks for the comment.
Black & white pictures are as shot from the camera. Infact all the pics are as shot from camera without any editing. I havent treated any of them exccept cropping a few.

Guys,
very dumb but, how do you post images which appear embedded in posts ?
I tried attachment but it has size limit of 100 KB. I am afraid I will loose too much details in my images even if I compress to less than 100 KB at 640X480 size.
Whats the recommended pixel size & procedure.
Thanks

The normal maximum size is 800 pixels in the widest dimension. So that would typically be 800x600 on a basic Point and Shoot, or 800x533 on normal ratio cameras.
If you have photoshop, I "Save for Web", which you can select a percentage quality. As it's only for posting on a forum, I keep mine fairly low, approx 40% quality. If you don't have that, maybe even saving some other jpg program, to say 5 out of 10.. (Medium or so).

Got it, OK posting some images here. I like this panorama because this is my first panorama i took without any tripod. I shot 20 images to stitch this panorama
The Black & white one - i like it more than color one because although the women has lot of wrinkles, she looks graceful in B&W

I love the picture of the lady - such life in her face. Is she a relative?

And the last one's in this post.
First one is inside a huge hall with ppl leaving. I just wanted to have enough light to have their features distinct. Second one is a portrait where again I tried to play with light.
