I know there is alot of issues with manufacturers and older TTL flash units. I've read that older TTL nikon unit don't work on newer DSLR cameras. Another factor is the voltage when the flash fires ..possibly messing up the new camera. Just in case anyone is looking for an old Dine macro flash ring with point flash...interstingely....the Nikon version fires fine on an EOS DSLr at only 5 volts. I metered carefully before trying it and it's Easy to meter manually. Plot it on and have fun.
