Dark Star Orchestra - 6/2/08 Higher Ground Burlington, VT

The first of two nights in Burlington. For those who don't know, Dark Star Orchestra recreates Grateful Dead show from the past right down to stage positioning, exact setlists and sometimes the same venues. Being a Deadhead from way back, it was a fun way to spend two nights.

2, 5, 7, and 8 are my picks... Great colors on all of them too...

I saw them last year, at Penn's Peak... they certainly do have a following.

Thanks, John. One of the things I got a kick out of in their following was that they have a hard core cadre of tapers. So, those tapers are taping a show that the band learned from the hard work of tapers who taped the original Grateful Dead shows.

The answer to the question is yes and no. There was a barrier/pit but the band didn't want me to shoot from the pit because feel it distracts from the show. I had to twirl my way through the crowd to get these shots.

that's funny about the pit. those guys have pretty big heads for a cover band.
