I am not able to upload photos from my PowerShot S230 to my computer. I have tried two different software applications (Picasso and Zoombrowser EX), have downloaded and installed the latest driver (WIA 5.0.5), have tried several different USB ports on my computer and have restarted my computer several times.

Every time I try to upload using the software mentioned above, I receive a message that "No Camera was Found." Obviously, there is something wrong with the connection (the computer is not recognizing my camera) but I do not know how to fix it.

Any suggestions?

It's most likely a conflict with your software on your current desktop. I am pretty sure if you tried on a different computer it will work. I recommend that you use a CF card reader to copy your photos to and from the CF Card.
All you need to do is to keep the DCIM folder intact.
Name the folders to ie: 101CANON
then the files as IMG_0001.JPG, IMG_0002... etc..

Surprising, XP usually does a great job in detecting devices like cameras and camcorders. I too have a built in "multi memory" reader bay - just put in the CF card and it treats it like a virtual drive - very quick!
