For those of you with studios... what do they look like? What colors are your walls all that good stuff? I'm in the middle of turning a room in my house into my small studio. I decided to paint the walls white to help reflect the light (not sure if it'll actually help at all of not) but I want to make it feel a little more cozy which is hard with such harsh white walls... so I figured I'd do the trim and doors and stuff a different color. What color can help warm up the white walls and still look professional?

I have a home studio as well, although its usually for products and not people. One one wall I have mirrors setup - its very light green, the other three walls are all eggshell white with a reflective coating on top. Ceiling is open, but may do a white drop-down at some point.

Remember that if you use a wall for reflection the color of the wall is going to be included in your reflection. I would stick to white on any wall that would be close enough to reflect off of.

I'm sticking to the white on the walls... just wanted to know what color I should paint the trim to make it feel a little more homey. That's why I didn't do any color on the wall... it is small enough that the color would reflect off of it. I'm going to put up some black picture frames and have some of my favorite pictures up... but other than that just trim and maybe a window treatment or something..

I wish I had a window in here. It would be great to get direct some sun light. It's east facing too, so it would have perfect at sunrise.

Mine is North eastish... it's a pretty big window too! I like it better in the afternoon on sunny days so the light isn't too harsh... I think I might do the trim a light tanish colour or something...

I'm in the works of getting my studio. Not sure what color to paint the walls either but I do have all my dads old film gear to put up as decoration in displays or something. Also going to get some of my prints printed on canvas to decorate but just not sure on the wall color just yet...was thinking a very light brown

Because the vast majority of money spent on photographs is by women, decorate in colors that appeal to women. Look at the womens magazines to see the trend. 20 years ago, we featured gold tone walls. Both our studio now have a combination of mauve and blue with decor to match the wall colors.
