Hi there.

My first attempt at shooting a dance performance and let me tell you it was hard work.

Esp when all you got is only a 18-55mm Stock kit lens!!

I sorta found the limitations to the lens.

I just couldnt get it under f5.6. The more i zoomed in the slower it got. Taking it at 18mm the image was quite sharp etc.

Perhaps i should buy a 50mm f1.8 or 2.8l lens. Anyways enough talking

Some nice images considering the limitations.
I don't like the vignetting in #3; way overdone IMO.

#4: 1/6 s  You must have pretty steady hands ;)

Those look very good given the conditions! To be honest, I can't see much reason not to own the 50mm f/1.8 given its price and value. You should certainly be able to get your money's worth out of it during its lifetime, though I don't think that it would have helped you a whole lot being two rows back in this instance (depending on how big the "pit" was). The f/2.8 zoom lenses seem to have good reps around these parts...though I don't yet own one so I can't comment too much more.

Thanks for the kind words.. You are right for the price it would be totally worth it. It cost about 129 bucks here, so not that expensive.

Shes doing another performance mid august. So i might purchase that lens beofre then and keep practicing.
