So I have had my Opteka tripod for about 2 years now. It has served me well, but with two bodies and a 70-200mm it just isn't cutting it anymore. Here is the current purchase plan, let me know if you can think of something else.
Bogen Manfrotto 055XPROB Pro Tripod
Bogen-Manfrotto 488RC2 Midi Ball Head with RC2My criteria and the (outcome):
Lightweight, < 6lbs (missed, ~7lbs)
Ball head
Quick Release
Leveling
More than 70" (missed this one by a bit)
Easy to carry (missed, bag or strap not included)So as you can tell, I'm not greatly happy with what I have left so if anyone else can come up with a similar setup, up to $350, it would be greatly appreciated.

Add this carrying strap (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/5285-REG/Bogen_Manfrotto_3044_3044_Long_Tripod_Carrying.htm l) to the package, and your transport "problems" will go away.

A super-tall lightweight tripod will either not be sturdy enough to be useful or will be extremely expensive (out of your budget by quite a bit).

You just cannot beat the overall value of the Manfrotto rig you've listed. I have their 3021BPro (forerunner to the 055XProB), topped with the 488RC2 and outfitted with "leg warmers" on all three legs and convertible spiked feet and the strap I listed above. I will be using this tripod for a long time to come, as it is a reasonable size and weight to take places and does a great job of what a tripod is supposed to do.

Looks like i'm going to pickup ben_r_'s tripod set, so that's a bit of an upgrade and I get a lot more than I was getting at only +$120.
