I'm thinking about joining Sportsshooters.com

I've been thinking about ways to start marketing my self more. I've been working for a local studio shooting high school sports for about 9-10 years now. I want to start doing more of that work and looking for ways to market myself to other media outlets such as newspaper and magazine editors. I know that I can get very good recommendations from my studio employer but I was thinking about also hooking up with sportsshooter.com. My hope is that maybe this would help give my name more of professional appearance. Now I know that I can do the work I just need to be able to get in a few doors. Having my name on a list may not help much but it would be a start.
What do you think of sportsshooter .com as a place to help open doors for you or what other places do you suggest?

Good luck! SS is a good place to be, but you really have to be good. Do you have someone on SS to sponsor you?

yes I read that thread. Their web site says that about 80% of those who apply without a sponsor will be turned down right away. So congrats on getting in. Can I ask how long the process took for you?

Collecting the images or submitting them?

Collecting, a little over a year. Submitted, about a week.
