Here are a couple of shots that I've taken in the past few days. I like them, but I want to see what others have to say!

In the Lens photo, the border is added to make it 10" wide and 8" tall. The larger version of the darts photo has the border as well, but I did that after I made this resized copy ;)

Cropped and Changed to Grayscale in PS7. Taken with my 300D and the kit lens. Color shot is also available, but I like the black and white better.

Resized in PS7. Taken with my 300D and a 70-210 1:4 Canon Lens (not the best, but got it for fairly cheap... its the lens featured in the first photo). This photo is available in black and white, but with all the colors in the photo, I like this version better.

Please let me know what you think. I like the photos, and am thinking of having them printed and framing them (and probably will), but I want to see some others reactions!

Be honest, I can take it :D

I like the first one a lot - has a film cell feel to it. Can imagine that as the cover of a book.

The second one has a few too many darts in for my liking (tell me you didn't throw them from a distance!!) - maybe with fewer darts it'd win me over.

Thank you for your reply and comments :)

I agree with you in that the first one is much better than the 2nd. The dart board just happened to be leaning in a dark corner about 6 ft away. It has yet to be mounted on the wall, and the darts were just stuck in there as a place holder :)

If only I were that accurate ;)

Thanks again for the comments :D

I agree with dewmuw on the first shot....nice.

On the second, I like the color and composition, but my eye is drawn to the bullseye....and its not in focus. It would be really neat to have the darts' fins out of focus and the shafts become more in focus as they approach the bulls eye!....with the points razor sharp!...which I suppose they really are!!

Thats for the comments and suggestions! Thats exactly what I was looking for - how to make that dart photo better because the more I look at it, the less I like it, but like the idea.

The points of the darts aren't really sharp, since its a bar-style electronic dart board with the replaceable plastic tips :D

#1 I'd put a white or gray card to the left of the lens, just out of the pic, to reflect some highlights into the lens body. & maybe a white/blue? card to the right-front to reflect into the glass.
