Hey guys and girls,

I was in Paris a couple of weeks ago before heading to the French Alps and used a friends (Noink) 70-200 f/2.8 for some street photography. It was my first turn at it - and jeez i'm in love with this genre of photography.

It was rather hard to choose my favourite 7.

Enjoy, just as I've enjoyed Paris.

Welcome to my first street series:

Beautiful women.

I'm dying to buy that lens....

Photos are GREAT! Is that the IS version or non IS?

Thanks for the comments guys. Street photography is great fun, especially with a long lens for added candidness.

I'm actually a Nikon (Noink) user, and the Nikon version only comes in IS (It's called VR - Vibration Reduction - in Nikon terms), but i'm sure they work the same way. Inside the Notre Dame it worked excellently.

Definitely the best lens i've ever put on my camera (along with the 28mm f/1.4) - I HAVE to have one now.

Lovely photographs, especially of the biker. Loved the way the visor shows the reflection of the road.

What time of day did you shoot these? Its hard to tell, but there doesn't seem to be too many harsh shadows.

Great captures! Gotta love that 70-200 for the "discreet" shots it lets you take!

I took them over the course of an afternoon, between 1pm and 8pm. The day was overcast at times, so the lighting was quite even, but also I was learning to meter correctly, which I think I succeeded at (if I do say so myself..haha).

Thankyou!

A lot of people dislike the 70-200 for street shooting claiming it's too large, bulky and conspicuous, but I loved it for the fact the extra reach meant people didn't notice me until long after i'd taken the photo. Plus the IQ is unbeatable and I think almost every shot was taken at f/2.8.
