If you look inside the battery/memory door, there is a very tiny slide switch in a rectangular opening just to the right of the memory card. Does anyone have any idea of what this switch is for? I have looked through the manual, online and searched this forum and can't find its use.

Thanks,
Walt

I'm not sure if I know what your refering to, but it could be part of the mechanism that handles the SD card when you push to insert it, and push again to eject it. This is based on my observation with the SD750 compartment.

That's possible, Terminator, but it looks more like an electrical slide switch. If I find out, I'll post here.

Thanks,
Walt

It tells the camera that the battery/SD door is closed or open.

Well, duhhh! Of course...that makes perfect sense, especially when you see the little nib on the door that pushes on the switch.

Thanks, Ben.
