I'm looking for a good, solid yet cheap tripod for my S1.
I'm thinking of the Hama Tripod Star 61, any opinions or experience of it?
Will it "fit" my camera just like that or do I need any additional parts?
It seems like a quality product and it's fairly cheap, round about 30 euros.
Any input is welcome.

"Cheap" and "quality" don't usually go together for tripods unless one of them has a negative attached. Look at the pan head; does it let you adjust the camera on 3 axes independently? Are the legs sturdy (when fully extended, can you apply pressure straight down without a lot of flexing)? Are the quick-release clips secure - can you apply vertical pressure on a leg without having it close up on you? And with the center column extended, is it both stable and slip-resistant?
Most small cameras, and small tripods, take a standard 1/4" x 20 thread screw; the S1 IS is no different, and I'd be surprised if the Hama didn't take this as well. But make sure you see one before you buy and check that it's sturdy.

Alright, thanks for the input! As you notice I'm fairly new to photography, and although I'm eager to get everything going I'm not the kind of guy to jump into something without checking it out in advance.
I'll keep all those points in mind :)
