I own & use CS3 on a regular basis, but the wife wants to start doing some digital scrapbooking. She's pretty good at the non-digital way of the art.

She is able to navigate the computer, but has no idea how photoshop works.

There is no way our marriage would survive me teaching her CS3, so that's not an option.

I guess the choices are:

Get her a book on CS3
Use the PSE that came with the 20D & get a book for elements
Purchase FotoFusion, and let's see how that works out.Any thoughts/suggestions are greatly appreciated!

I've used Foto Fusion for over 3 years now and there is nothing I've found to come close to it. I can do in minutes in Foto Fusion what it will take hours to do in Photo Shop. I own 2 studios and FF is our program of choice. I use both V 3 and V4. Buy the extreme version if you plan to output anything of any size.

I agree with the Extreme version of FotoFusion also. I've used both versions and version 4 is the choice for her for sure. The Digital Scrapbooking site associated with FotoFusion will knock her socks off if she's into scrapbooking as you say. Poke around Lumapix's site and check out the scrapbooking portion. There's also a trial which you can download and try before shelling out the coins first. Extreme is a "little" pricey but not near Photoshop's price.

I don't know FotoFusion, but there is a ton of info and podcasts on Photoshop on the internet. Might be another option?

PSCS3 can be pretty daunting if you first use it, so Elements might be a better option to start with.

Thanks for the responses!

I did D/L the FotoFusion trial, and it seems pretty easy to use. I'll have to upload my 10 minute masterpiece, when I get home tonight.

What I think I will do, is let her use the trial for FotoFusion, & give her a few links to some CS3 tutorials, and let her decide.

$299 seems a bit steep, for the Extreme version. But I guess it's far less expensive than what she spends on scrapbooking supplies! :p

But it is way cheaper than a divorce attorney.
