What could have been done better? I don't hate it, but I don't love it. I added the lens flare in PS for a little pizazz...

I am not really found of the angle.

I am not really fond of the lens flare either. Takes my eyes off their faces and expressions towards each other and makes me focus on the blown out sky and the lens flare on the man's coat.

Can you post the before picture?

She seems to be making all the effort in the picture - eye contact, pose - so maybe it's partly down to subject interaction? Maybe if his hands were shown to be making contact with her it would have helped?

I'm not NOT liking the angle.. I think it's the dead space I left within that angle that's also getting to me. I think I knew it when I took the shot.

Wasn't that great to begin with. I do have to confess that this was my first time shooting a couple. I was kind of at a loss as to how to even describe the poses that I was seeing in my head.

Thanks. I think in later pictures they were both interacting more. I'll keep that in mind for the future.

I kinda like the sun flare myself, but I'm a sucker for other stuff too, like HDR and selective color, so take that with a grain of salt.

I don't think you are going to get a really good couple shot unless you can see the eyes of both people. This shot and the other one you posted, you can only see the girl's eyes, and we are getting a profile of the guy in such a way that we can't even see one of his eyes.

Maybe it a quirky thing I do but I always have an inspiration sheet with me. I print out a contact sheet of poses and take it to me to the shoot. If I have a couple or a model that I am really having a hard time directing. I show them what I am looking for on the sheet. If my brain freezes, I peek at the sheet *LOL*

I think I'm going to have to start doing that. If I ever get the chance to do this kind of thing again.
