Hi all,
I'd like to leave just one memory to my EOS 1D, now sold for a new 1D MK II. 1D was an exciting experience in the digital world.
In the meantime the subject is a wonderful and strange person, 60 years old transexual in Genoa, Italy. I met him during a photography reportage out there in May 2004.

Enjoy

More Genoa photos are at http://dobova86.fotki.com/genova if interested.
Any comment is welcome !!

I encourage everyone to take alook at the gallery.

Your work is outstanding and you really have a great eye for setting b+w just right with the perfect amount of contrast for each scene.

I think you have come from a film background. Am I right?

I agree, excellent work all round

What do you use to convert to B + W

Hi Jemook,
thanks for your comment. I am really fond of B+W photography since 25 years when I was a young boy. I was a Kodak Trix 400 fellow for B+W and Velvia for colors. I developed thousands of films on my own, but now darkroom is on the PC, no way to change the trend. 4 years ago I decided that for reportage and prompt photo delivery, digital would be the way. Then I bought a 1D (makeing lot of debt :-)!!): was an outstanding camera, and never I felt the nostalgy of my EOS 1V film camera, although the CCD color rendering is not comparable to modern CMOS in 20D, 1DMKII or 1Ds MKII.

clayinspector, I use Photoshop CS and C1PRO for Raw management (for 1D) or CameraRaw 2.3 (for 20D). For B+W convert there are few way to apply. I use most of the time Theimagingfactory "Convert to B/W pro" product now, it's fast, very flexible and good quality ($99). Really suggested, have a look here http://www.theimagingfactory.com/.

Ciao
