View Full Version : WORLD WIDE PHOTO WEEK: PART 121 -- Fluffy
BLS
14th of July 2008 (Mon), 17:24
The theme for this week is "Fluffy." Interpret this any way you like, as different and unusual interpretations are always welcome.
Here are the rules:
1. Shots need to be taken between sunrise Monday and sunset the following Sunday. Because this activity is supposed to encourage us to get out and shoot, please don't post old shots from your archives. Crummy shots and art are equally welcome -- just get out & shoot, and then share!
2. Post your shots at any time during the week.
3. Post a maximum of two shots if you're uploading them to POTN (i.e., attaching them). You can post more than two if you're linking to shots that are not hosted by POTN (i.e.,embedding them), but keep within POTN rules. Also keep within POTN rules about size. A copy of the size rules can be found here: http://photography-on-the.net/forum/...d.php?t=194511 (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=194511)
An index to previous weeks can be found here: http://photography-on-the.net/forum/...d.php?t=170603 (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=170603)
That's it! Have fun!

Oooo, do I get to be first? I got this one of my neighboor's kidden-kat...it's name? Kitty of course...our town folks are not the most imaginative of peoples, but we are nice to small furry things. :p
But, Kitty was sunning herself on the bricks along the end of our deck. Poor thing is super skiddish of people and now is forced to share her home with...with...a BUNNY...how demeaning for a kitty to have to share a home with food! :) Happy Easter...hehehehe...
oh, the 2nd pic is a crop of the first pic. And as I recall this was in the late afternoon taken with my Canon 55-250mm.

Mike -- Are they bird shots?
Are you liking your new lens?
I did some shooting yesterday -- with dismal results.

I got a couple bird shots yesterday, but everything was in the shade so I had to crank the ISO and have some subject movement. No camera shake though as the OS is amazing! I have a sharp shot at 1/25 for 800mm effective focal length. Too bad it is a door knob. ;)
So far I like the lens, but I need to use it some more to get used to it. It is a lot bigger and longer than my next biggest lens, the 70-200 f/4 L. DOF is very small with a lens this long, very small!
The shots from this morning are not bird shots but I hope to get some later today when my daughter and I go to feed the ducks. :)

Here are my shots for this week. I was hoping to get a shot of a couple of bunnies that live in an empty lot in my parents neighborhood. They come out in the morning and evening to feed and I thought I could get some shots of them at those times. For the first half of the week I never saw them. Yesterday morning though this little one happened to be grazing in front of my office.

And while at my parents house I snagged a shot of their 16 year old Miniature Schnauzer that we almost lost a few weeks ago.

John -- The honey fluff's eye fascinates me; I keep staring at it.
Mike -- Your bunny made me laugh. You see, I recognize the plants that he's grazing on, because we planted some. Pretty blue flowers. Well, the rabbits ate the plants as quickly as they emerged from the ground and actually killed every plant!

Here are some ideas for next week:
1. History
2. Clean
3. One the 7 deadly sins (gluttony, pride, envy, extravagance or lust, wrath, greed & sloth, according to Wikipedia)
4. Leaves
Which do you like?

THANKS....that was a by chance shot as I was heading out to something else. I was even testing a new lens...
BTW, I love the weeds and the bee...though the bee is not exactly a soft and fuzzy kinda critter... :)

Annie -- I think you & I did okay considering what we had to work with.
I too, like leaves.
Ann
Looks like you broke the tie between fun sin & boring ;) leaves.
So "Leaves" it is.
