I'm looking at getting a spare battery for a soon-to be my new 5D. Does anyone have a recommendation for a not so genuine battery that does a good job? Are the ones HVstar sells any good - I have to get an order of filters from them anyhow.

I'm a bit scared of non-genuine batteries, after I had a couple of AA's from Mexico leak evil green corrosive goo into my maglite and kill it.

I got a Pisen battery from Hvstar when I ordered a CPL. Its for an XTi, but it seems to be working just fine thus far. Been in the camera for a few weeks now (only about 200-300 shots on the first charge - still at full on the LCD).

If you want some batteries that are little more used by people on the forums. You might want to check out http://sterlingtek.com/. I just got the one from HVStar as I was ordering from them already, otherwise I would have ordered from Sterlingtek.

I've seen lots of references to Sterlingtek, they look good. I'm just trying to cut down on postage costs, as I will soon be making several orders from different camera gear places, because no-one shop sells everything cheaply! It also seems a little silly only ordering one battery...
