Clean url

Many cms offers now the possibilty of clean url (using rewrite) in order to make a site searchenginefriendly. Are there any plans of adding this option to EE as well?

EE2 is SEO friendly. I don't get this trend to rewrite URl's, the content of page is what matters. Search engines don't have any trouble following pages with few URL variables. EE2 has usually two URL variables.

But if you want to set "SEO friendly URLS" up, it is always a web server rewrite engine feature.
