I broke down and bought American Music by Annie Leibovitz today...they had the hard and softback and I couldnt resist the hardback...yeeesh....its just such a nice book. We studied her work in class on several occasions...its truly inspiring.
Anyone else get/read?/look at it

The Leibovitz new collection of photos was prominently displayed in all of the bookstores I wandered through during the holidays. So I got to view most of it. These are images of iconic figures in American music - mostly recent photos but some old. You feel an instant sense of intimacy as you recognize familiar faces and names. As with all of her work, I was stunned, awed and totally absorbed by the power of her artistic expression. I learned few lessons. She has artistic genius that eludes my comprehension.

Ditto. I just stare in awe at her stuff. Not being a portrait person doesn't help, but who can't recognize that it's great stuff. I just shake my head and put the book back. I might as well read a book on sub-atomic particle physics in 6 dimensions.

Alas, the same could be said for particle physics.
