Telephoto Lens Options

I'm looking to get the equivalent of a 450mm lens to shoot pictures of my kids playing baseball, etc. The Canon 1.5 Telephoto doesn't provide enough zoom. Has anyone hooked up the Kenko 8 X 32 or CrystalVue Optics Monoculars? I think they may be too difficult to control. What are some other options? I'm not looking for perfection-- I've gone to 2 big camera stores, and they look at me like I'm from Mars. Any ideas? Thanks!

Have you ever thought of getting a Pro90? 450 mm with a G1 seems quite impossible to me because of vignetting f. ex.!

The Pro90 has max. 370 mm and you could use the Olympus B300 teleconverter (1.7x), so you could get around 630 mm!
