After using 35mm SLR’s for years, I am excited about all the possibilities of digital photography and printing
photographs on my Canon printer. One issue that I am having difficulty with is.... overexposure of the sky. Wait let me explain. When I adjust the exposure or shoot auto to capture a landscape, the foreground and background are full of detail and sharp, exposure is very good. When view the photograph later, the sky is white, overexposed, when I am looking for deep blue. I really do not want to spend time in PS to color the sky. Any suggestions?

Did you try adjusting White Balance from Auto to Daylight or Cloudy? That helps sometimes. And you can also try the Vivid Photo Effect to get the "deep blu sky".

For example, with my A40 I noticed that with cloudy weather you MUST use the Cloudy White Balance instead of Auto: you'll get the correct exposure of the sky and the correct exposure of the subject.

Hope it helps!

PS which camera model do you own?
