Resetting the No.'s

Hi,

I'll be receiving a new CF card today and would like to start a fresh no.'s on my 20D. I know the topic has been discussed here before so let me run it (from memory) by you guys to see if I got it right:

1- Format card in PC
2- Set the numbering to Auto Reset in camera
3- Format card in camera
4- Take a pic and voila, you got to start from no.1

Not sure the above sequence makes sense, something is wrong somewhere. Would appreciate your help.

Almost. Here are the steps:

1 - Format the card in the camera.
2 - Set the file numbering to "auto reset".
3 - Turn the camera off.
4 - Remove the CF card for a few seconds, then replace it.
5 - Turn the camera on, put the file numbering back on "continuous".
6 - Take pictures.
