do you like the full version are the cropped ? comments please. I'm still learning I used just a house lamp for the light. And had someone hold and shine it toward her face. So how you think I did ? with just cheap lighting ha. I need to buy me some strobe lights. I guess that's what their called ?

Wow Gail, I'm about to go and dig out all the lamps that are packed away...I think you've done an amazing job - absolutely stunning photos (not to mention how gorgeous your grand-daughter is but you already knew that!).

there's nothing like photo memories. I still to this day get my old photos out... of my family and go through them and enjoy. And yes my granddaughter is very lovely. I'm so proud of her as you can tell. ha :-) She makes photographing so much easier
with that pretty smile of hers. :-) She's my pride n joy.

Very nice photo there. I think the uncropped looks good, but maybe if she was a little more to the left? Nice work though. Who needs expensive lights? :)

I think the cropped image is the most appealing, but that is just my subjective opinion.
Nice work!

Sorry I'm late. Nice work Gail! On the subject of affordable studio lights, have you looked into a simple set of hotlights? You could use them for the same style of lighting you have here with a bit of improvement in the light quality, and they're a lot less expensive than studio strobes. Smith Victor makes a set, and they have barn doors, snoots, etc available for these. The advantage of hotlights aside from cost is you dont need a built in modeling light, as they are always on. The dissadvantage is that they are "Hot", so you have to be more careful with them. ;)

Hi Bruce,
Thanks for the comment. Yes I need to check into something like this
"hot-lights" ha I think it would be lot easier than the lamp thingy ha.
But for the time it work out ok.
I was just playing around to see what kind of effect I would get with the lamp shining on her face. I liked it I might have to invest in some hot-lights soon. We had fun though with the lamp thingy.

Nice job. I can't decide which one I think looks better. She looks a lot different in this picture than the others you've posted of her!
