i'm still very new with photoshop, and i don't have a color managed setup just yet. I have some photos i took of some wildlife, and would like to submit them to somewhere that might want to buy them. which direction would i go in finding someone or a place that i could email the files to, they could photoshop for me, and send them back? i shoot most things in raw and large jpeg, so is the raw conversion offered anywhere?

I have no idea of such a service.

However, you can do most of what you need yourself, once you get your monitor calibrated. I strongly suggest doing that anyway, especially if you're planning to make a living off of photography. A one time expense of $100.00 for monitor calibration equipment and having a color managed workspace that you can work in will be the living pants of off paying someone $100.00 an hour to do your editing for you. Another advantage is that you can edit the files to your liking - another person might not do what you envisioned.

Spend the extra money on the monitor calibration equipment. Believe me, it'll go a long way.

By the way, this is what I recommend for a Photoshop CS3 book for you to learn from: http://search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/isbnInquiry.asp?r=1&ISBN=9780240520285&ourl=Adobe%2DPhotoshop%2DCS3%2Dfor%2DPhotographers %2FMartin%2DEvening

Very comprehensive, and comes with a DVD/CD for some more step by step stuff.

Photoshop is pretty in-depth to learn, you can spend literally hours in front of the computer and learn all kinds of things. I liken it to an onion with a LOT of layers to peel off, just takes time to get to the core :).

Keep at it!
