Shot this last year with my G3 on a trip to see my buddy in Minnesota. I caught one small fish and gave up and started taking photos.

Good colours but really lacks a focal point. Would have been perfect if there was a boat or something there. The horizon is tilted. Good luck with more fish next time! :)

Man, oh man, what tunnel vision I have. Thanks for bringing the sloping horizon and other miussing elements to my attention, I normally watch closely for stuff like that, but I doubt I would ever have noticed it. Thanks again, dude...Mackroe

I agree with dewmuw. Great colors, but the tweaked horizon and missing elements would make it so much more interesting, but it is already very beautiful without them. Do you remember what lake you were on? I am a former Minnesotan displaced to Hong Kong. I know there's 10,000 lakes there, but it's worth asking to see if I know where it is.

I wish I could remember the name of the lake, I cannot, but its fairly near a little resort town called Pequot Lakes, Minnesota. You familiar with that area ?

Also, I would look at having the sun perhaps 1/3 or 2/5 the way rather than near the center, and the horizon is better when it is either above or below the center rather than bisecting the photo. These are generally accepted guidelines for landscapes. These could all be accomplished just by cropping the photo. Nevertheless, quite beautiful, a sense of serenity.
