Hey everyone. Glad to have found this site.

I have been shooting for about 10 years, the first 3 for my own personal stockpile of dusty photos. In the last 7 years, I started shooting dancer portfolios, I spent a number of years shooting with professional dance companies and in the last 3 years added weddings and some gallery work as well.

Anyhoo, I decided to take advantage of a good deal on the Rebel ($897 - $100 rebate = $797 including lens kit). Not a bad deal. I have been extremely please with the Rebel image quality and low noise factor. The Russian hack has really loosened up the Rebel's features. I am now in process of buying the necessary additional flashes, lenses, battery packs, etc. I also shoot with an Olympus e-20, an Olympus E-1, a Canon 20d and now this surprisingly nice Rebel. I also have a Nikon D1x.

Anyway, glad to be here.

Hi ya and welcome to the POTN,

I use to shoot with Nikon myself, converted over to Canon not too long ago. This is great site with excellent group of people.

Cheers,

Charles,

welcome.

You've got a serious arsenal of cameras there. I have the rebel and 20D myself, love them both. The rebel has always delivered and never gave me problems. The 20D is better but sometimes give me problems... the grip for one, and then I don't really like any of the .cr2 raw converters out there.

Enjoy ;)
You must now post a picture of a duck.

I am curious to check out the Olympus Evolt E-300 and compare it to the Rebel but from all accounts (ncluding DPReview), it's not as good.

I don't think I have posted a duck picture yet... I'll have to try and remedy that when I buy a new lens :D
