I will picking up my 1Dmkll tomorrow and was wondering how long to charge the battery for the first time. Can't find any info so far and don't have the camera in hand to check the charger/battery specs...

Charge it until the light blinks. The manuals will explain. Also, for the first three initial charges, do a complete refresh. Manual also explains how to refresh.

When I first got mine, I did three full charge and refresh cycles. Now they are good for about 1000 shots per charge.
