They could use some white balance correction.

Nice shots of some sweet weapons.
Is the importer out of Cumming GA, or are these guns made in Cumming? Styr is an Austrian made gun, right?

I believe they're imported from Steyr Mannlicher in Austria by Steyr Arms Inc, located in Cummings, GA.

Very nice lighting, and I think the layouts are done pretty well also.

I would caution in your AR15 picture that you probably don't want to have a magazine with just one or two rounds in it. If you only have one round of M855 that you want to showcase, you can stick empty casings, or generic ammo in. If you leave the magazine catch cutout with out brass showing, it detracts sharply from an otherwise clean picture.

Whitebalance looks clean on my monitor.

I had thought about that, then forgot. Thanks for the comments. I've always enjoyed your photos on ARF.

I deleted an entire series that I shot for someone because I did that. It happens sometimes. I don't think most people would ever notice it.

What are you running for lighting with these?

For the top three pictures, I'm using a 60 watt table lamp and a simple "diffusion panel".

The fourth is natural light only.

The fifth is a lightbox I built using an example from one of the topics on this forum.

This set features great lighting.

Something nit-picky, and a matter of opinion only. When I look at lifestyle pics of guns, I like to see the guns in a "deployable" position. To me, it adds a great deal of drama to the photo if it feels like the gun was "just put down" or is ready to be "picked up." If the gun is in a position that says "I'm ready to go" then it feels much more powerful to me.

With that in mind:

#1 Doesn't work for me. I have a weapon in front of me aimed more or less at my midsection, and that makes me uncomfortable. I can't just pick this pistol up -- I have to rotate it.

#2 I would like to see the butt of the rifle closer to 8 o clock. Pistol is better.

#3 Looks good.

#4 Best of the lot. If my hand falls to the bag, the room in en fuego!

#5 Placement is horrible. How can I bring that to bear without spilling the beer!!!! :)

Anyway, my two cents. Take it for what its worth!!!

Thankyou, I've been too busy to do much over there lately.

Good use of light!

You have some great subjects to work with, the only thing for me is in the first 3. There is just a little too much back on black IMO. Hope to see some more of these. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the suggestion. I need to find something else I can use for a surface. http://smiliesftw.com/x/biggthumpup.gif

I like the Steyr pics, great job. The one on the belt is my favorite.

It seems we have the same taste. I even used that same Highnoon holster for a while. I haven't gotten a hold of any of the A1 models, I've pretty well kept the with my S40. (http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-4/148376/SteyrS40group.JPG)

I would photoshop out the rub marks on the slide, they distract. Like it to look flawless rather than used.

Nice series.

S40s are difficult to find nowadays. Consider yourself one lucky owner. :D

I'm of the opposite thought, the web is filled with pictures of people who show their weapons that live pristine in a safe.

Nothing wrong with showing a weapon has lived an honest life.

Nice set! I like the one with the Benchmade and the Fenix light, that is a nice BG and layout. I almost picked up a Styer when I turned 21, but the sights were wierd to me. How do you like the sight picture? easy to acquire?
