Hi there

Does anyone know the difference between IXUS v3 or POwershot S230?

I used to think they are the same, but I noticed there are some features that are not found in my IXUS v3.

1) ISO rating. I do not have the option to change it to other ISO rating, as seen in manual.

2) Flash. I do not have the Slow-Synchro which is also seen in manual.

There shd be other features that I have not discovered yet, found in manual but not on my camera.

Can anyone bring some light here?

Thanks.

Erm not very sure where you're getting at but the S230 IS the V3 = ). The naming conventions for this series is pretty confusing. The model name is S230, In US its called the Digital ELPH, in Japan the Digital IXY and for the rest of us the IXUS.

I think you should be able to change the ISO rating as my S200/V2 already has that option. I think if you are in the US the camera actually comes PRINTED with the words S230 AND Digital IXUS V3 on it.

Hi,

I just bought the V3 and it's my first venture into the digital photography scene. I've had the same problem figuring out which unit I own.

With regard to your query which I note is months old (you've probably figured it out by now), you need to get out of auto mode to adjust the iso speed and all the other manual related features. Took me a while too to figure it out but walah! Once you've got it, it's a breeze.

Happy shooting.
