Hi guys,

First post this year. Let me wish you a happy new year. :)

As I can read many threads about Tamron's 28-75, I'm wondering if exchanging my sigma 24-70 for this lens would be a good deal ?
My sigma has a non ultrasonic motor which means that it is quite noisy. And on top of that, it has problems when you switch from manual focus to auto. I can hear the motor spinning but nothing happens.
(I have no bucks for a 24-70 L right now :?)

Thanks,

MikeG

I haven't used them both, but I have the Tamron lens and I am extremely satisfied with it. I notice no extra noise, and the manual focus works just fine without any extra noise from the AF motor.

If you can trade the Sigma in towards the Tamron, great. If not, offer it for sale in the Marketplace section.

Take a look at this thread.

It's a bit older, but it's one of those that started the Tamron fever.

I am very happy with mine, but I think that a swap from Sigma will only make sense if you can get a decent price for your Sigma lens. Otherwise, you'll have a backup lens.

Best regards,
