View Full Version : SanDisk CF Extreme IV is dead.

Not realy dead but on yesterdays soccer game I lost around 1.5GB of data on card that's corrupted and can't be used anymore:( but whole story is little crazy. I went on soccer game yesterday (qualifying round of UEFA CUP) and all went very well.

I take some nice photos of game and just wait to come home to download them and check them but when I come home I realise that I can download only 1st 40 minutes of game (126 pictures) while rest is gone. Before I start drivig home I check last pictures of game and celebrating and everything was on card (around 300 picture). After that I turn camera off and that's that. What's happend with 180 pictures that are missing I realy don't know but here is link to what I can see on Card this moment. Anyone have some suggestion what to do?

Today I'm going to buy SD card (for 1D MarkII) so I hope I will not have this issues anymore.

Hm... easy to say. Few days ago I throw that CD into garbage because I think why the hell I keep it like I will ever need it. It's murphy's law. And I got 4-5 of that small CDs. I Hope I will get it with SD card when I buy it today:)

you still got the card, i got my disk sitting right here..

or check their site, may have it for download if not i can send it over somehow

did you put the card back in the cam, see if they are there via the cam?

No in Cam I can see only pictures I manage to download nothing more. I search for recovery software and found only trial version of 1 of sandisk recovery software. Will check with some friends around here do they have this CD :)

So this is what I found. I try few recovery programs and non of them was 100% sucess until I get sandisk recoveryPRO like cdifoto sugest. After I start him in few hours I got all pictures saved and stored on my computer.

Here is reason why I got this problems with CF card. I find few people have same problems so I think this was reason for me too. I put card into card reader and then notice that I enter wrong card (i have 2 and download 1st pictures from suporters then from pitch). I take card out but probably computer was still reading images from card and that was reason for card to destroy most of photos.

Strange but I think it's truth. Will check that today or tomorow
