Hi Everyone

I am new here, so go easy on me!

In short, my PC (using XP Sp2) won't see my USB connection to my new IXUS 75, but my laptop does (and without any Canon software either) but it's my PC I want to use to manage my photo's.

I have the Canon software on my PC, and have checked and tried every USB port but no joy. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the canon software to no avail.

The Canon web site, to me at least, is somewhat confusing and now I'm totally confused. There is talk about WIA drivers, I've downloaded that, but then it doesn't help.

I don't mind not even using the Canon software, I just want to be able to plug in the camera and download my photo's. My old (am I allowed to say? ;)) Olympus X-785 used to be 'seen' immediately by windows and I would just explore to the DCIM file and remove the photo's I wanted.

I'm guessing it's some kind of USB issue. I've tried my USB hub and the USB ports off the motherboard of the PC too with no joy.

Enough words and wingeing from me. Looks like a good forum here, I wish I had found it yonks ago, Does anybody recognise these 'USB not seen' symptoms?

Thanks, oh, and apologies if this post is in the wrong place.

Ant.

you could just buy a cheap CF card reader off ebay. that's what i use for my ixus 70.

Have you turned the camera on whilst connected and switched it to the review setting?

edit just realised you said it worked with your laptop but not pc
