52 pages for $20? ouch! and here i thought b&w was an spendy mag

im guessing...but

a) they say the print quality is very very good

b) the market isnt large, which makes good paper and printing expensive

c) its viewer oriented, mostly photobloggers...each issue is a theme and people submit their work, what gets chosen is printed. I doubt there is a profit being made.

According to the website, the magazine contains no ads, so 52 pages are all left for the original content. 52 pages dedicated entirely to photography are actually more than the other magazines offer.
