Just bought it. Was previously using an HP 618, 2 MP camera. I note, however that on indoor shots (haven't tried it outdoors yet), the cannon pictures appear too bright.

For example, I have a wall that is slightly off white in color. The HP captures this fine. In the cannon, it appears bright white.

Two questions: 1) Is something not right with the camera?

2) What setting (white balance, exposure, etc) can I use to adjust this?

Thanks

If you're using flash, you should have good white balance for objects within the range of the flash (which is not that powerful). Are you sure you have your camera set up properly? Indoors - you want to either be in "auto" flash mode, in which case the camera decides when flash is needed, or "forced" flash which does exactly that.

I've found the A95 to have a suprising number of options which take time to learn and use properly (inspite of a well designed menu system). Until then, it's safetest to stay in one of the auto modes ("auto" or "P" if I recall correctly).

Are you shooting pictures of an off-white wall? That would fool any good camera.
