Just got my new set of cybersync Tx and battery powered Rx delivered. Set them to channel #1. Connected Rx to my AB400. Now if I press test button on the Tx, AB400 fires.
But if I install the Tx on my 1dmk2 hot shoe flash, and hit shutter button, nothing happens. I can press test button on Tx and AB400 fires fine. I tried installing Tx in other orientation, same problem.
Got my 10d out and tried on it with Tx in the way pictures in one the pictures that came with the tx (shows nikon camera with tx mounted). No fires. Tried Tx in hot shoe flash the other way around and it fires.
Put back on 1dmk2 and still no fires.
Any help is much appreciated.

If you push down lightly on the Cybersync while tripping the shutter will it work?

If I press real hard, it fires the strobe but I only if I have the Tx installed the other way where test button etc is facing the subject.

Does a flash work when mounted to the hotshoe?

No problems using flash in the hot shoe. Wish Tx came with the sync port on the side so I could use my pc cord.
It is happening with 2 cameras so I don't think it is the hot shoe.

Hmmm... can you run your fingernail repeatedly against the ball to try and loosen it up?

You the man. I just used a small screw driver to go all around that center ball and it is now sticking out just a bi and Tx is working fine now in the hot shoe.
Thanks for your help.

BTW - I can sycn fine at 1/320sec. just like when using pc cord. When I try 1/400sec, I get very small bar at the bottom of the frame. No mis-fires at all during my testing.

My next suggestion would have be WD-40..... I work with a tool regularly that has a "button" similar to that. It sticks often and I use a screwdriver (it is a large heavy duty tool) to loosen it up on occasion.
They sound like a very good product by all accounts. I hope they are that good, they sound like the perfect price point for a reliable product.
