a question re the metering modes on the DREBEL.

The mannual says that for everything in creative mode, (except M, i think) partial with AE Lock is used. Effectively, does this mean that for shooting in Av, Tv etc, the shot is exposed for the middle of the image by default, unless you use AE lock to move your metering to another part of the image?

It would be handy, I would have thought, to be able to use Evaluative with the creative modes, also.

In creative modes, partial metering is only used when you use the AE Lock button (*). In Av/Tv the camera uses Evaluative metering - but this is VERY heavily weighted to the active auto focus points. In Manual mode, the camera uses Centre Weighted Average metering.
