One of the most famous features in Zion NP is called The Narrows. Basically, the Virgin River has cut a path between mountains for about 15 miles. To hike The Narrows requires one to walk mostly in the river, although there are stretches of rocky, sandy shore. Occasionally, flash floods occur and rearrange the boulders and sand. At places, the 2000 foot-high cliffs are only about 25 feet apart.

I really like the color spectrum.

It took me a while to realize a fellow hiker was captured!

EOSD30Freak, I probably was in the water at that point, but can't be sure. I went in with my camera inside a plastic bag inside my backpack. However, I took shots so often, I soon kept the camera outside the pack, but in the plastic bag. Still, I tried to be very careful, especially when stepping on slippery rocks. I once lost a camera when my canoe flipped in some Rio Grande rapids. (I still hear it about that one.)
