I'm in the market for a used 1Ds and was interested to get some input on how one would go about purchasing one on the open market and what type of information would you want to know about the product? Are there better alternatives to Ebay?

I would try at Fredmiranda.com's Buy Sell section of the forum.

Check B&Hphotovideo.com and Adorama.com. They have an extensive used selection which grows all the time.
