G'Day.
This was a race between a BMW and a Pitts S2C. The Pitts won easily, but had to get airborne because it would have ran out of runway :-).
The first pic is prior to the race while both car and plane are moving to the far end of the runway.
The second pic is when the Pitts got airborne and almost caught me by surprise :-) !

The pitts taking off is really cool...
the blurred background is too good... did you help with PS or is it the panning?

Thanks for the comment.
Its all panning. It looks odd, because I panned up as well as across. Picture was taken at 1/125 second to blur the prop.
I dont think i'd have the patience to photoshop it :-)

The shot of the Pitts taking off is very nice. :)
It's slightly marred by the orange and white object (person?) under the plane... perhaps you could clone that out?
Great image!

The takeoff shot is really great. It looks like a watercolor painting background.

Thanks all.
Cadwell - the orange object is the pro-photographer with a safety vest. Its probably best that we can't see what gear he's using though :-). I'll see what I can do about cloning out, but I'm not much of a photoshopper :-) !

That's BMW Z3 coupé, I find it kind of funny looking.
I prefer the look of the Z3 without hardtop

it's an M coupe, yes? i didn't think they made a non-M version. my mate had an M roadster which is quite a bit different than the z3 (not just a body kit).
at least it's not the ugly-as-sin 1 series.....

I prefer the design of the Z1 over the design of the Z3.
The working of the Z1-doors is great...

Thanks for the info on the car http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif
Heres a couple more - they are fairly poor because it was a very sunny (and hot) day, and that metallic paint was just too reflective http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif

Nice shots of the car.
I guess what you need is a Pol-Filter. Gives a better saturation in daylight scenes and removes part of the reflections...

The working of the Z1-doors is great...oh yes, definitely - the z1 was nice - never saw one in person, though. i don't know what they are thinking with the new 1 series, though. maybe wanting to compete with A-class?? - that or Holden Barinas... :p
and i definitely concur about the pol filter. just spin it til you get the right angle. though on dark cars, i kinda like reflections of clouds. it's great to get rid of the glass reflections, though
