Fireworks 2008: Firemen's Fair

We have an annual firemen's fair and they put on a pretty good fireworks show. This year they chose to have the fair this past week rather than on the 4th of July weekend. I decided to grab my gear and head on over.

The view was great but I can honestly say this was one of those times where you would have wanted to be further away. The perspective is interesting and some of the shots are spectacular.

I shot everything at f/11, ISO 200, and used shutter speeds ranging from .5 second to 2.5 seconds.

These are some of my favorites. I took a few shots of the ferris wheel for kicks.

Thank you Mike. I didn't realize that's where your live. I was probably standing in front of your driveway and walked past it about 10 times :D

I might shoot this show again next year but I'm thinking about going out east to see the big Grucci show. I'll let you towards the end of next June ;)

Hey, are you planning on going to the Hot Air Balloon Festival out at Brookhaven Calabro airport in August? The dates are 8, 9 and 10.

I've long been a fan of yours, and have learned much from your teachings. I think I might be able to repay you to some degree. My 7 year old daughter asked to look through POTN by herself. I made her swear off of the G&N section, then let her go. I watched t.v. for about an hour until she just called me. She said she had found her favorite picture. It turns out to be #2 of this thread.

Here's her critique! "I like how it is red white and blue for 4th of July. And it is pretty!"
