Back to my usual fix of Rugby League yesterday, all shot with 1dmk2 and 400 L IS F/2.8 all shot wide open at f/2.8

The expressions on 4 are great!

But May I ask why you shot at 2.8? The light looks fairly decent, and you probably could've gotten away with f4 or similar. On 1, the players just in the background would be better if they were in focus. (Correct me if I'm wrong.) Also in 7 there is a player just coming out the side of the frame.

Overall though, great shots!

From where on the pitch did you take these? From the angle it appears you were on the touch line? Where were the players typically when you'd be able to frame them nicely with the 400?

Hi Dan-, anywhere and everywhere but usually behind the tryline up to 5 metres in from the corner flag and up the touchline from the corner flag to the 30 metre line
