Bludomain customer service is sluggish and no too nice --so I'll try here:

Just wondering if I can change the domain name of my site I have with Bludomain? I've changed my business name and would like to rename it.

Thanks!

Change what's written, or change the domain it runs on? Presumably you need to get the new domain name anyway, so just copy the site over and see if it works.

I dont think you can just copy the folder over to a new domain name, i tried with mine and it wouldn't work.

They must have some sytem in place to stop people copying the site.

Hi, I would like to change the domain name itself (ex: www.abc.com (http://www.abc.com) to www.xyz.com (http://www.xyz.com)).

Yeah I got that. According to Aszental you can't do it, maybe Blu will do it for a fee, or even for free if asked nicely. Then again maybe it's full price. You could always try some kind of tricks with keeping the swf file on one server and referring to it from the new domain, maybe something like that would work. Probably not though.

If you are just trying to change your domain name and don't care about changing servers you can try to 'forward' your new domain to the old one. To do this, you will need access to your domain registrar and/or your control panel of your hosting account. You can setup a 'frame forward (aka url redirect) to the 'old' domain. This isn't the best option but should work.

If BluDomain is hosting your domain and you bought the domain through them, they will have to handle this for you as they have control over the domain registration.

BluDomain will do ti for you. You can't do it yourself. There is a nominal fee if I remember ($75 I think). The domain is hard coded into the site to prevent sites being copied and used by others.
