I think that CCD sensor cameras are infrared capable, not CMOS sensor cameras like D-30 and D60.

Hi,

I use a Hoya R72 for the 28-135IS and the 75-300IS on the D30 and I love the results:

BTW ... I called this new IR style "IR Channel Shift", because I created it by exchanging the red and the blue channel against each other.

Further examples incl. Exif data can be found on my homepage ... further info about IR with digicams can be found here:

Using a R72 filter try 30sec at f2.8. The D60 renders the IR very well. The exposure meter obviously responds to IR with the R72 filter, but at least 10 stops of exposure needs to be added to the meter reading. I drool at my friends D100 which renders IR beautifully, with accurate exposure readings!

Jaybee,

I thought IR was not possible with the D60 due to the IR filter it uses. Do you have any examples of IR photos you've taken with the D60??

Thanks.

Hi,

30 sec at 2.8 ... that doesn't sound like the D60 captures IR well !
I would call this nearly useless for IR, sorry. What about wind and depth of field. I would recommend buying a used G1 for IR ... that would be much more fun AND much better results!
