Ok well I cant get the grip off the camera. I think it is best to wait when I have down time and send the camera with the grip installed so canon can remove it. Now what about the grip? Is there no warranty? It seems to be faulty. I never had this problem with the Grip that I used with the D30, D60 and 10D and they had a lot of mileage on them. That would stink if canon will not honor a warranty on the grip. Any insight any one?
Thanks,
Evangelos

Whats the problem with the grip exactly? Is the wheel just jammed solid or does it freewheel?
I recently had this problem on my old rebel, when i went to take it off the wheel just span round without unscrewing. The thought of being without my camera for 3 weeks whilst Canon fixed it actually inspired me onto the 20D!!
I sent the Rebel and grip to canon who fixed it under warranty as both items were under 12 months old.
As the 20D isn't a year old yet i don't thimk you will have any problems with canon.

Angelo: Send it to Canon, they'll fix it under warranty and upgrade the grip while they're at it.

Ok thanks. I guess that is what I will do. When I have down time.
Thanks,

Just pulled the grip off my 20D. It was showing that the batteries were depleted and i know they were not. Once the grip was off each battery showed a full charge when used singlely.
Irritating since I leave for Yellowstone at 4 AM Monday ... but then again, since the batteries will now be in a pocket I'll get better field life from them out in the cold.

Upgrade your firmware. My grip was doing this too until I flashed the camera to 1.1.0...

I have had no problems with the grip and I have not upgraded the firmware to the latest version.
