I bought a used 380EX off Craigslist a few months back for $100. and really like the results. Since then I have been keeping an eye out for a 430EX.
Well, today I found one, again on Craigslist. Mint condition, with box and manual for $239.
So, here I am again with a new toy and the learning curve to best utilize it. I notice there are a lot more buttons and settings than the 380. Guess I'll browse the manual and start playing. I want to get more involved with home studio work, especially with my brand new grand-daughter being the primary subject. I like the idea of off camera flash so I can gain better control of the lighting. I also bought a Lightsphere II C3 - Cloud Diffuser to go with it, thinking of closeup shots of the baby's face.
Are some of you using the 430 with your G9? I'm sure thats a yes of course. I guess the question is How long did it take you to figure out this thing to achieve optimum results taking pictures of friends and family?
Any other words of wisdom and input for a new 430EX user?
Thanks,
Bob
