These are great. You've documented this well. #2 and #7 are the standout shots to me. Love the 'grittiness' of #2. Was that due to high ISO or did you add grain?

I like them also.
not sure about the graininess though. I was looking through some other pics you have and they look good.

I have shot a few nighttime fires and struggle sometimes with the metering and the flash. Usually things are a bit hectic to manually meter. I think the issue is with the reflexite and the e-ttl pre-flash.
here are some from some work around town

I assume that judging by the gear you carry these were done off-duty?

You run with Medford?

The grain was caused by the high ISO. I shot them raw and converted. Problem was that these I had to save, the black and white ones were poorly exposed, but when converted from raw I was able to save them in black and white. If I would have converted them to color, the picture would be lost in the noise.

Bucket772, yes these were shot off duty. I'm the Burlington County staff photographer for phillyfirenews.com. I am a firefighter in Medford and in Willingboro. Interesting, it really is a small world. I was born and raised until 2nd grade in the apartment next to the Williamstown fire house on Main St.

We should have an area fire photographers meet sometime soon.

I like the first shot. It's what you see first rolling up. It looks however like the aerial is parked on a brother. Good series
