It's electric. No gas needed. She hopped on a bus after locking this up. Mid Manhattan.

OMG Pio, I love the look on her face! Did you talk to her at all?

And yeah, I'd be scared to leave my scooter on the street like that, looks small enough to take along, eh?

Fabulous.....

Wondering why one would leave a scooter to catch a bus? Maybe she ran out of juice.

Thanks for looking and for the comment all! As some of you mentioned, her pose and expression are the things that I like in this shot. Those electric scooters have a limited range, so I am guessing that she is going to a far off place and will be back for the scooter later. Park and ride is right. The scooter looks a bit small, but it is too unwieldy to carry on the train or subway.

I wish I talked to her, but the bus came before I had the chance :(

I have an electric scooter also. I'm not sure how I'd want to lock it on the streets yet but then again I would leave it so long to take the bus...

Yeah man, that is a great shot. I love it.

BTW I picked up the new Carl Zeiss 50mm 2.0 Makro-Planar and it is truly lovely. Took some very nice images with it at the weekend. I think you'd like it. I am considering doing a review sometime soon.

Dave thanks for redirecting this towards the photography aspect. My interest is piqued with that CZ lens that you have. What mount is it? ZF? K? What camera are you using it with? I am curious to see how it rates against a Micro-Nikkor, or my other 50 mm MF macro lenses.

it is a Nikon mount but I have a AF confirm adaptor for the EOS mount which seems pretty good. I really got it to work on the D700 I bought but at the mo' am using it on the mk II N. Not the ideal FOV and I think will be good as a wal;kies on the FF. Also picked up the 'classic' 28mm 2.8 which is MF only. Supposed to be a great lens but ain't tried it yet. D700 should be here tomorrow and will let ya know how the Zeiss does. So far I have converted all shots to B&W. It just seems to demand it ;)

Well, yeah, Pio, he clearly knows everything since "There is nothing you can teach me in that respect." That is why my Laugh to his response. I should have added a few of these:

Lads, I went to NYC maybe 3 years ago for 5 days. And you punks think ya tell me anything about that city  Wot I can tell ya is you look the wrong way crossin' the road and you find a cab running over your ass! Now that don't happen in the UK.

Nice shot, per usual. Can't you bring bikes, skooters, etc on NYC buses?

kenyc

They have bike racks on the fronts of all the buses here in Denver.

But now you know what bus stop she sometimes stops at.

Let the stalking begin...

Lol, thanks guys! One can bring scooters and bikes on the subway, but not on buses, unless you have a folding bike that folds into a small package, or a small kick scooter (I have a Xootr that I can bring anywhere, no problems). The scooter in the photo though is a bit too large and heavy to be carried onto a bus.

There are lots of people using scooters and bikes here. It is easier than walking, but the downside is storing it when you get to your destination.
